ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Minha Lee

At IMPRESO, we love highlighting artists whose work feels deeply personal, intentional, and rooted in process. This month, we’re excited to feature Minha Lee, a Brooklyn-based artist whose pencil drawings balance texture, precision, and experimentation in a way that feels both intimate and striking.

Even If U Dont Believe

From self-published comics to highly detailed graphite works, Minha’s approach is rooted in experimentation, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the physical qualities of drawing materials.

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Minha and I make pencil drawings.

Still Life

Tell us about your work and what inspires your artistic style?

I currently work exclusively with pencils because they are forgiving, affordable, space saving, versatile and I love its textural quality, which informs a lot of the decisions I make. I’m inspired by things I see in real life and online, which are the same thing.

Is there any work you're particularly proud of or want to highlight?

The piece I’m always the most proud of is the most recent one since I’m always trying to push towards something that feels new and exciting to me, but I'm still pretty proud of the hand drawn, 24 page comic I self-published last year (see here + cover below).

How has IMPRESO contributed to your journey as an artist?

I found IMPRESO through google maps because I was trying to find a local print shop to make fine art prints with and they were a 15 minute walk from me so I gave it a shot. The quality they offer is beyond what I was expecting and if I need to print things again I’d definitely go back!

Are there any tips or advice you want to give other artists out there?

Pick up a pencil.

Minha Lee is currently taking commissions (on a case by case basis) for flyers, covers and posters - stuff with intent to print or distribute.

Minha’s work is a reminder that even the simplest tools can create deeply impactful art when paired with intention, curiosity, and consistency. We’re excited to continue following his work and can’t wait to see what he creates next. Stay tuned for the next Artist Spotlight!
